Authorities file drug charges, claim several pounds of meth found

An official raid recently went down in Ohio that resulted in authorities claiming to have seized a substantial amount of drugs, packaging materials and other items. They claim to have seized several pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine. Authorities have since filed drug charges in connection with the incident.

The alleged drug bust occurred on a recent Wednesday. Two response teams and a drug enforcement task force say they worked together to serve the narcotic warrant at the two locations. Three people were detained at a residence that was searched. One of those is said to already have an outstanding warrant.

Officers say they also took possession of a handgun, heroin and approximately $5,000 in cash during the raid at one of the locations. Drugs allegedly seized from both places reportedly amount to a street value of more than $320,000. One of the people charged has a bond set at $5 million.

Authorities say they plan to make additional arrests in connection with the ongoing investigation. They expect more drug charges to be filed soon. A person charged with drug crimes in Ohio has every right to fight those charges in court. Whether one is able to avoid conviction and stay out of jail may depend on the type of defense presented. In the past, many have been able to avoid conviction and stay out of jail by seeking assistance from a criminal attorney and producing valid alibis or other evidence that proves they could not have been the ones to commit the acts of which they have been accused.
